Garden Hub

The Garden Hub is open!

Fircroft was successful in its bid to Wandsworth Council to develop and transform an area of our outdoor space into a Garden Hub! The Garden Hub is a beautiful outdoor learning space for all our pupils, from Nursery to Year 6. 

Outdoor learning specialist Beata Allen came up with a clever design that used and transformed the play equipment already in place, whilst adding new features and areas such as a wildlife zone, a relaxation zone, a propagation space and raised beds for flowers, herbs and vegetables. 

Beata worked with a wonderful band of Fircroft Family volunteers to make the Garden Hub a reality which saw the Garden Hub officially open in the autumn of 2020.

Now it is used regularly to enhance our curriculum learning, particularly in Science, Geography and Art. It is also used every day during break and lunch time, providing a beautiful, calm and shady place to relax with friends or to read a book.
