Reception Learning from Home Activities - Week beginning 18th May

Dear Reception,

We hope that you and your families are all keeping safe and well. We are missing you all very much!

We are glad to hear that lots of you have enjoyed the activities last week. There has been lots of great learning taking place at home from making butter, to writing down facts about the farm and playing Hoopla! See below for a selection of lovely photos that we have received.

As we approach the end of our topic, ‘On the Farm’ we hope you enjoy the final week of farm-themed activities, before the half-term break. This week Miss Catt will be reading the story, ‘Farmyard Hullabaloo' and Miss Gomes will be showing you how to make a fingerprint farm. There will be lots of other farm-related activities for you to enjoy, such as farm yoga and creating farm animals using your fingers and paint!

Don’t forget to keep tuning in for your daily phonics lessons!

As part of national ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’ next Thursday, why not also try some of the suggestions below either in your garden or on your next daily walk:

  • Create an outdoor maze in your garden or local park using sticks, leaves or objects from your house.

  • Visit your garden or local park. Collect leaves and sticks to make a nature collage. Or take photos and create a piece of art inspired by nature, at home.

  • On Tooting Bec Common, there are hearts pinned onto trees with lovely messages. The idea is to spread love and positivity! Create your own hearts to put around your garden, street or local park. Make other people smile!

Enjoy the activities, keep smiling and stay safe - We miss you lots!

Miss Gomes and Miss Catt
