GSO Test

'Success for all, in all we do'

Year 1 Blog 27th November 2020

It has been another great week in Year 1.

In Maths, we have continued to practise and consolidate our methods to find number bonds. This week we have been using ten frames to work out number bonds to 10 and writing them in number sentences. We have been continuing to work systematically to make sure we find all the possible the number bonds.

In English, we have been exploring the story ‘Dear Dinosaur.’ We planned our questions to ask the dinosaur and practised using question marks in the correct contexts. Next we wrote a postcard to the dinosaur from the story, asking him lots of different questions.

In Science, we have been looking at different types of animal teeth. We observed the difference between carnivore, omnivore and herbivore’s teeth. We used these observations to help us sort animals into groups.

In DT, we designed our own dinosaur eggs then created them using balloons and paper mache.

Have a great weekend!

Mrs York and Miss Marshall.
