Overnight educational visits are an important part of our curriculum.
We currently run two residential school journeys at Fircroft. We believe in the importance of providing pupils with opportunities to experience outdoor learning much further afield. Therefore both our Year 3 and Year 6 pupils have the chance to take part in residential trips and we know that their memories of these experiences are amongst their most treasured from their primary school years!
Our Year 3 children visit Gaveston Hall and our Year 6 children head off to PGL.
Please see all the relevant information below.
Our Year 3 pupils stay at Gaveston Hall, which lies in the pretty village of Nuthurst, near Horsham, in West Sussex. During their stay, pupils take part in a wide range of fun and challenging outdoor activities including pond dipping, shelter building, following trails, swimming, playing sports, and generally exploring the great outdoors!
This trip is thoroughly risk-assessed and all activities are highly suitable for seven to eight-year-old children.
Year 5 - Wednesday 22nd - Friday 24th September (postponed from last year)
Year 3 - Unfortunately was cancelled due to Coronavirus
To be confirmed.
In Year 6, our pupils stay at the PGL Centre in Liddington, near Swindon – a huge, landscaped site which features lakes for water-based activities. Whilst there, pupils take part in a range of adventurous activities such as abseiling, climbing, kayaking, quad biking, and zip wires, designed to build confidence, promote teamwork and, of course, provide lots of fun! Liddington is also one of only a few centres to have a tunnel trail and even has several flexible indoor spaces, so whatever the weather the children will always have something to do!
Monday 20th June to Friday 24th June
